Defender Michael Duff believes that Burnley have given themselves every chance of avoiding the drop this season following their fine victory over Manchester City recently.
Burnley pulled off one of the shocks of the season by beating reigning champions City at Turf Moor a few weeks ago and it has to be said that the Clarets fully deserved their win after putting in a brave performance.
While Sean Dyche's side still have it all to do if they are to avoid relegation this season, defender Duff has stated that the fantastic win over City has given the entire Clarets squad belief that they are capable of retaining their Premier League status.
"We are in a tough run of games, not that there are any easy games, but that's what we wanted last year," he told the Lancashire Telegraph.
"No-one is moaning about it. Ultimately we've given ourselves a chance with the win over Manchester City, it dragged a few in and nobody expected us to beat them.
"That is why the supporters were so good as well, because they could see that's what we do every week, we work hard, and the next eight games will be no different."
