Manchester City are planning a £25 million bid for Lyon playmaker Yoann Gourcuff.
The Daily Star Sunday says City are continuing to track France midfielder Gourcuff - even though he was transferred from Bordeaux to Lyon only four months ago.
Clubs like Arsenal and AC Milan, who were also keen on Gourcuff, have accepted he is no longer available after his £15million move.
But City, with the greatest spending potential in world football through their cash-rich Arab ownership, don't see it that way.
A source said: "City are the only club in the world who would have this attitude about a player who has just been transferred - or could afford to have that attitude."
