Manchester City are preparing a bid for Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Manchester Evening News says City could land Yaya Toure from Barcelona next week, hope to persuade David Silva to accept a £29m move from Valencia after the World Cup - and are ready to revisit their interest in Nou Camp ace Ibrahimovic.

The big Swedish striker appeared to be a no-go for the Blues when Barca stated last month they would not sell the man they bought from Inter Milan in a staggering deal worth £56m last summer.

After signing David Villa, the Catalan giants have indicated they may be prepared to sell Ibrahimovic to fund their spree, opening up the intriguing prospect of a player-plus-cash deal for Robinho.
