Manchester City will try again for Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala in the summer. The Daily Mail says Mangala has been a long-time target and the breakdown of talks will not affect City's plans to make a renewed bid at the end of the season.
The 22-year-old, who has also attracted interest from Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain, has a £37.8m release clause in his contract.
It is understood that the France defender also had reservations about switching clubs in mid-season with the World Cup just around the corner.
