Man City willing to meet £36M price for Benfica star Di Maria

Manchester City have a deal in place for Benfica star Angel di Maria.

The News of the World says City have agreed a £36million deal to sign Benfica's Di Maria in January.

Although contract negotiations are not finalised, City are confident they will bring the in-form midfielder to Eastlands.

The Argentina star has been identified by Mark Hughes as a long-term successor for Robinho.

City are believed to have spoken to Benfica and the player's representatives in South America about doing a deal for as early as the next transfer window.

I don't think Benfica will let him go before end of season. Di Maria is now formidable player and absolutely decisive if Benfica wants to win championship. After world Cup he will move to England (M.City or another) for 36m$, disclosure clause, and he will make City fans shiver with joy. Go Benfica go!
