AS Roma star Daniele De Rossi is on the agenda for Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini.
The Daily Star says Mancini sees De Rossi as an alternative to No1 midfield transfer target Samir Nasri, of Arsenal.
De Rossi is no closer to agreeing a new deal but denies talks have taken place with Mancini about a possible move to the Premier League.
The Italian international, 28, said: "Mancini likes me? You will have to ask him. I have not spoken to anyone and I have not heard from anyone."
