Manchester City boss Mark Hughes accepts his team still needs to gel after their defeat to Wigan.

Ahead of tonight's UEFA Cup second-leg clash with AC Omonia, Hughes conceded: "We are a young team in terms of years, experience and development. A number of players have been added to the team, guys who have no experience of the Premier League and what that entails.

"It will take a little bit of time for them to get used to that. The more games we play together the better we will become.

"We dictated possession at the weekend but Wigan got men behind the ball to stop us playing.

"Maybe that will happen tomorrow where the opposition will get men behind the ball and try and hit us on the break.

"Omonia caused us a couple of problems in the first leg and we have to put this tie to bed quite quickly. We need to start strong and dictate the tempo."
