Man City will send Pellegrini off with a trophy haul - Hamann

Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes that the Manchester City players will give it their all to provide manager Manuel Pellegrini a memorable sendoff.

It was recently announced that Pep Guardiola will be taking over as manager of City next season and as a result, Pellegrini will make way for the Spaniard when he arrives from Bayern Munich.

Despite the excitement surrounding the arrival of Guardiola, there is no doubting the fact that Pellegrini has done a very good job at the Etihad Stadium and former midfielder Hamann believes that the City players will be doing their best to give the Chilean a fitting send off at the end of the season.

Hamann said: "These players will send Pellegrini off with as many trophies as possible because they will go through a brick wall for him. He's treated them so well over the last three years.

"The City players will try their utmost now to make sure they give Pellegrini the perfect send-off, and I also think they're a runner in the Champions League.

"If they hadn't announced Pellegrini's exit I'm not sure they would be, but after the news I think they're very much in the running."
