Man City warn Real Madrid, Barcelona off Pablo Maffeo

Manchester City have no plans to sell Pablo Maffeo.

On-loan at Girona, Maffeo is attracting interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia.

However, The Sun says City boss Pep Guardiola has been impressed by the ex-Espanyol ace after scouts watched his last two matches in victories over Real Madrid and Levante.

And City are now planning to take him on their pre-season tour next summer to integrate him into the first-team picture.

An Etihad source said: “Pablo is all set for his chance at City next year. He is in his third spell in three years at Girona and impressing.

“The club have sent scouts to watch his last two games and there has been some rave reviews with Pep very happy with his progress.

“He will be involved in the summer tour plans and then become part of the first-team next season. He is at that level now."
