Manuel Pellegrini says he will have to wait and see just how serious the injury is sustained by Vincent Kompany on Monday night.
The Manchester City skipper limped off with 20 minutes left of their 4-0 home win over Newcastle United but Pellegrini is unsure of the severity problem at this early stage.
"We'll see during the week with Vincent Kompany exactly what he has," Pellegrini told Sky Sports.
"We will see what the best thing is that we must do."
It could be a major blow for City if Kompany is injured as they currently have their other key central defender Matija Nastasic on the sidelines leaving just Joleon Lescott fit in the centre-half position.
