Manchester City have been encouraged to up their bid for Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago.

Roberto Mancini has been told to up his £10million bid for Gago to £15m.

The Spanish giants have given Manchester City until midday today to seal a deal for the Argentine.

Gago, out of favour at Real, wants to play more often to secure his World Cup place.
