Manchester City have dropped their pursuit of Real Madrid defender Pepe.
The Daily Star says City have abandoned hopes of signing Pepe, after having a £20m bid rejected by Real Madrid.
Blues boss Manuel Pellegrini has been chasing the Portugal star all summer.
But Real boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to keep the centre-back at the Bernabeu.
