Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara is being watched by Manchester City.
The Daily Star says Eithad sporting director Txiki Begiristain is a confirmed fan of the former Barcelona man and is considering a deal.
Thiago was a target for City prior to his move to Germany, when Manchester United also made a bid to sign him.
The 24-year-old is key to Pep Guardiola's plans, but City are looking at alternatives in case they fail to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus next summer and know Bayern would listen to decent offers.
