Manchester City have trumped Manchester United for 16 year-old prospect Yeboah Amankwah.

The Manchester Evening News says the defender linked up with the 20-time champions on a trial basis in October.

And he was expected to complete a permanent switch from London's Kinetic Foundation academy after that spell ended.

Amankwah's decision to head to the Etihad may come as a blow to Manchester United, who have sought to secure a host of emerging talents' signatures this year.
