Manchester City are trailing Chelsea in the battle for Napoli star Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayan, who scored three times for Napoli against City in last season's Champions League, is in talks over a £35m move to Stamford Bridge according to reports.

City boss Roberto Mancini is an admirer of Cavani, along with his former Napoli team-mate and now Paris St Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi.

City are concentrating on their pursuit of Arsenal forward Robin van Persie, says the Manchester Evening News.
