Manchester City are battling to get themselves into the running for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao.

The Telegraph says City are in the market for at least one new striker with manager Roberto Mancini also having travelled to Madrid last month to hold talks with Falcao's representatives - although it appears increasingly like that the Atletico Madrid striker will either move to Chelsea or Real Madrid at the end of the season.

It is not thought that Falcao, who has a £48m release clause in his contract, will leave Atletico in the January transfer window.
