Manchester City are keeping tabs on Southampton's England duo James Ward-Prowse and Jay Rodriguez. The Daily Star Sunday says City have home-grown concerns regarding the make-up of their squad and know they must add local talent to keep up with quota demands.
English signings are on the agenda, with Southampton's Ward-Prowse, 19, and Rodriguez, 25, would targets.
Ward-Prowse has kicked off the season impressively for Saints, though started Saturday's rout of Newcastle United on Saturday.
Rodriguez, meanwhile, is recovering from knee surgery and along with City, also is on the agendas of Liverpool and Tottenham.
