Manchester City are set to offer Juventus £43million for Leonardo Bonucci, according to reports.
Sky Sports is of the belief that City will return with an increased bid after having a £38m proposal turned down by Juventus.
Pep Guardiola is determined to lure the Italy international to the Etihad Stadium and according to Sky sources in Italy, will meet with the 29-year-old's agent Alessandro Lucci in the coming days.
It is understood that Juventus will listen to offers of over £40m for Bonucci despite the fact they do not want him to leave Turin.
Guardiola is a known admirer of the former Inter Milan and Bari centre-back and is keen to have him at the heart of his new-look City defence in 2016/17 and beyond.
