Manchester City have made Kevin De Bruyne the highest paid player in Belgian football history.

It is expected to be confirmed this week that De Bruyne has signed a new contract to 2024.

Het Nieuwsblad says the midfielder has jumped to the level of Sergio Aguero in being the equal highest paid at City.

The deal is worth €340,000-a-week - but with bonuses will be worth a stunning €400,000-a-week.

De Bruyne and City have been in talks since the end of last season, but negotiations accelerated over the New Year amid rival interest from Real Madrid and PSG.
