Manchester City are closing in on Feyenoord's teenage midfielder Rodney Kongolo.

The People says the 15-year-old is expected to come to Manchester this week as City try to beat off Liverpool and Chelsea.

Liverpool had been thought to lead the race to sign the youngster but City have emerged as primary candidates now.

Kongolo is under contract in Rotterdam but the fee for him may be as low as £500,000 in compensation.
