Man City threaten to trump Man Utd for Gaitan

Manchester City are threatening Manchester United’s summer plans for Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan.

The Mirror says City could be ready to rival neighbours United for Gaitan.

The Premier League leaders watched Argentinian, 23, in Benfica's Portuguese League Cup win over Maritimo.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been tracking Gaitan for the past few months, and Benfica are braced for a battle to keep him this summer.
