Aymeric Laporte has indicated that he remains committed to the Athletic Bilbao cause.
The 21-year-old French defender has been heavily linked with Manchester City in recent days with some reports even suggesting that the Premier League club was set to trigger his release clause of £39million ahead of a summer transfer.
There had also been talk that Laporte, who is currently sidelined with a serious ankle injury, was searching for houses in Manchester but a Twitter post from the player himself on Monday hinted that he will be staying put at San Mames if it were his choice.

The translation reads:
“To the unfounded and inaccurate news appearing in the media this day, my message to the fans of Athletic is very clear and simple.
“In my mind I have only the desire to be useful to the club and my teammates, to achieve maximum goals this season, as well as recover well from my injury.
“I can only thank all that Athletic has given me and will always be the first to know about anything that might happen in the future.
“My loyalty and deep respect for this club is full. And of course, I always go ahead with the Club and the fans. Up Athletic!!!!!"
