Man City target Ibrahimovic closer to AC Milan sale

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is edging closer to the exit door at AC Milan. While Milan officially denied last night reports of a rift between the Swede and coach Massimiliano Allegri, Ansa says the striker is not speaking terms with management.

Parliamentary sources claim Allegri met with vice-president Adriano Galliani and patron Silvio Berlusconi, the former Italian PM, to discuss Ibrahimovic's situation. Allegri told the directors his position with Ibra was "untenable" and blamed him for 'squabbles' inside the locker room.

Allegri asked Berlusconi and Galliani to consider Ibra's sale - particularly given the striker's age.

Manchester City continue to monitor developments closely.
