Manchester City target Diego Godin is on the verge of re-signing with Atletico Madrid, according to reports.
Spanish publication AS is reporting Godin could put pen to paper on a new four-year deal in the next 24 hours, committing to Los Rojiblancos boss Diego Simeone.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini was understood to be interested in the 29-year-old, with City prepared to match the £28million buy out clause in Godin's previous contract.
Manchester United and Chelsea had also been linked with Godin, however the Uruguayan now appears set to sign a long-term deal and commit his future to Atletico.
