Manchester City target Frenkie de Jong wants to become a Barcelona player this summer.

The Ajax midfielder has impressed many European scouts over the past couple seasons.

He featured in 22 Eredivisie games for his club side this past season. He spent most of those games in central defence, but he can also operate as a defensive midfielder.

He has been linked to the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain recently.

But El Mundo Deportivo claim that it is Barcelona where he would like to go next.

The 21-year-old has asked Ajax for a transfer. He may have to wait another season if the club are reluctant to sell - but he is determined to get his dream move sooner than later.
