Manchester City have held talks with Liverpool striker Peter Crouch.

The Mirror says Crouch has held talks with Manchester City about a January move to Eastlands.

The England international has grown increasingly frustrated at his limited role at Liverpool and was sent off in his last appearance in the Carling Cup quarter-final at Chelsea. Sven Goran Eriksson, who gave the 6ft 7in striker his international debut in 2005, has been promised funds to strengthen his City squad next month.

And he sees the 26-year-old, who is valued at £8m, as the perfect foil for Brazilian playmaker Elano in his highflying side.
