Man City superkid Bobby Duncan (& Gerrard cousin) reveals Liverpool rejection

Manchester City superkid Bobby Duncan admits he was rejected by Liverpool as a junior.

Duncan is the cousin of Reds legend Steven Gerrard and made history last week after scoring an England hat-trick against Brazil U16 - the first ever for a Three Lions player at any level.

His younger brothers Ollie (under-13s) and Freddie (under-10s) are both on the books at Liverpool.

Duncan spent time at both Liverpool and Everton but neither signed him up. Instead he ended up getting taken on by Wigan Athletic, who spotted him in action for St Helens Town.

After 18 months with the Latics, Duncan was snapped up by Manchester City at the age of 10 and has been there since.

“City were building their new Academy at the time and with all that investment I thought it would be good place to continue my development," he told the Liverpool Echo.

“Training with the best players and coaches and with top class facilities has definitely helped me."
