Man City striker Tevez unhappy with Maradona hook

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez is angry with his Argentina boss Diego Maradona.

Tevez was fuming after being subbed by Maradona despite his double against Mexico.

The Manchester City ace's controversial opener was two yards offside and his spectacular second-half 25-yard missile put Argentina three up but he was still hauled off as Mexico took control.

Tevez said: "I felt well, I asked for the ball at every opportunity and I didn't understand the change. We couldn't keep the ball but I am not the only guilty party when we can't keep it.

"We knew Mexico would start strongly and would try and have the ball and hurt us. We couldn't generate our game and getting the ball back was difficult. In the second half they kept the ball well and caused us problems.

"Yes, I was angry when I was subbed but it's normal. I spoke to Diego and he said he wanted me more as a striker than to come and drop deep, so I did that, but I needed a game like that to reaffirm I am well and I am happy and I feel hungry for glory with this shirt so I needed something like this."
