Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo believes their thumping 4-1 win over Manchester United eclipses the club's famous 6-1 triumph at Old Trafford.

The match marked Negredo's derby debut.

"We were strong and pressed hard and we got our rewards. I remember watching the 6-1 win at Old Trafford over lunch in Spain and it is a very happy memory. Was this better? Maybe it was more beautiful than that game because we were at home this time. I'm very happy," he told City's website.
