Man City striker Negredo revels in 'The Beast' nickname

Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo is proud of his nickname - 'The Beast'!

After spending all his career in Spain, Negredo believes it's the right time to test himself in England.

The 27-year-old said: "My team-mates first started calling me The Beast. It soon became so popular that the media in Spain also started to use the nickname.

"It made me laugh. But, yes, I am a strong player who can fight and be physical. I think I have some qualities that will suit the Premier League.

"I think my style suits the game in England but I also like to believe I have good technical ability as well. City will get my best years. Now I am at the peak of my form and also this is another league and style of football.

"I am very confident I will succeed here, not just on an individual level but also in the group.

"I think I can be both physical and technical. There are obviously some matches where the physical approach is very important and other games where you can show off your skill.

"I think I am a player with many qualities. I have a strong all-round game.

"I am not just a goalscorer, I think I also work hard for the team."
