Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo enjoyed his battle with Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic last week.

Negredo played a key part in City's 4-1 rout of their derby rivals.

He said: "Vidic is a very strong player, very aggressive, but I enjoyed that sort of contact with an opponent. As long as opponents play fair, it's not a problem to me because I'm always ready for the challenge.

"It was a battle I enjoyed. I always enjoy a physical battle, but it's the success of the team that's the most important thing.

"I think I am a strong player, who can fight and be physical. I think I have some qualities that will suit the Premier League.

"I think my style suits the game in England, but I also like to believe that I have good technical ­ability as well. I think I can be both physical and technical. There are some matches where the physical ­approach is important and other games where you can show off your skill."
