Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has thanked Steve McClaren for his public support.

Former Wolfsburg coach McClaren always talked up Dzeko's abilities during his lean spell this season.

And Dzeko said: "We were together in Wolfsburg and we had a good relationship.

"He is happy for me that I scored."
