Man City striker Bony confident he can hit the ground running

Manchester City's £28million signing Wilfried Bony is eager to put aside the troubles of his first season at the club and hit the ground running in the upcoming season.

Bony signed for City from Swansea City in January but struggled to make any impact in the second half of season due to consistent ankle and knee problems.

The Ivory Coast international told City TV: "Before the end of the season I came from Africa (Cup of Nations) to join another team. You need to change a lot of things, and you need to train and be ready for the games, so it is not easy.

"I can say there were good moments and bad moments - but it is more important to think about what is coming now. It is about getting fit and trying to do my best for the new season."
