Manchester City striker Benjani Mwaruwari is being linked with a sensational return to Portsmouth.

The Sun says Pompey plan to fill the gap left by Jermain Defoe's exit to Spurs by bringing Benjani, 30, back to Fratton Park from Manchester City.

The Zimbabwe international is likely to be offloaded if City boss Mark Hughes can land a new striker this month.
