Man City striker Adebayor admits big Arsenal regrets

Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor admits he regrets leaving Arsenal.

Adebayor is now rebuilding his career with Real Madrid on-loan.

He admitted he has regrets over leaving the Gunners in 2009: "It was another level there. Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry and Robin van Persie were there - it made me improve as a footballer.

"I became a key figure in attack and it shows that I was a success.

"Arsene Wenger taught me to arrive on time at training, to be professional, how to mentally recover and to act professionally with the other players in the dressing room."

And regarding his acrimonious £25million departure to City, Adebayor added: "I left frustrated. I loved Arsenal.

"When I was young, one of my dreams was to play for them because my idol, Kanu, played there.

"I thought I would stay there for the rest of my career."
