Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is still intent on bringing Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz to Eastlands. The 27 year old Paraguayan has already been the subject of three failed January bids from Hughes, who used to manage the player at Ewood Park.
The Welshman told Sky Sports News: "It is well documented that we have put in a number of bids for Santa Cruz.
"He is a player I have worked with before and I think that he could help us.
"Obviously it has been going on for some time now and it is obviously Blackburn's prerogative to turn down any offer we make.
"We are trying to move that process forward.
"If it happens we will be delighted, but if not we will have to move on and look at other targets," he concluded.
