Man City step up pursuit of Wolfsburg's Dzeko

Manchester City are set to step up their pursuit of Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko.

Reports suggest that the German club want around £50million for his services but City expect to miss out on Liverpool's Fernando Torres and are likely to chase the Bosnian fairly hard.

Already the Eastlands club have spent £60million on Jerome Boateng, Yaya Toure and David Silva with another £42million to be spent on James Milner and Aleksandar Kolarov this week so a £50million purchase of Dzeko would take this summer's spending to over £150million.

It is believed that Dezko is keen to leave Wolfsburg and has targeted a move to Manchester despite heavy interest from Bayern Munich and Juventus.
