Manchester City are a step closer to offloading Roque Santa Cruz.
The Daily Star says the Blues hope to agree a severance deal so Santa Cruz can secure a permanent move to Real Betis, where he spent last season on loan.
He has 12 months left on a £70,000-a-week deal.
