Man City starlet Roberts taking in plenty from stars Silva, Aguero

Patrick Roberts is no longer taken aback when he hits a pass to his more experienced Manchester City teammates.

The 18-year-old winger joined City from Fulham in the summer and was initially in awe of the plethora of internationals trotting around the training ground such as Argentine striker Sergio Aguero and Spanish playmaker David Silva.

But after a few months of spending almost every waking hour with his new colleagues, Roberts is felling much more comfortable in his surroundings, as evidenced by his impressive debut when coming on as a second-half sub in Tuesday night's Capital One Cup win over Sunderland.

"It's a real thrill every day when you look up and realise you are passing to David Silva or Sergio Aguero, but you get used to it and they become team-mates," he said.

"They have been great to me.

"The boss just told me to keep working hard every day in training, to keep improving and you have to do that playing with players like David and Sergio. The manager is good to work with and he has been great for me.

"But I know they are great players and you have to be something special to take their places – hopefully that is something I can do. It's good to work with them and learn from them."
