Man City split over failed Ronaldinho pursuit

Manchester City's failed pursuit of Barcelona star Ronaldinho has caused rifts within the club, it has been revealed.

The Daily Mail says despite City chairman Thaksin Shinawatra's persistent claims that the team are not good enough, nobody from the chief executive down to the manager yet knows how much cash, if any, the owner is preparing to spend on players this summer.

Indeed, some at City are beginning to despair of Thaksin already and, in particular, of his aides and board members Pairoj Piempongsant and Tawesuk Jack Srisumrid.

There is fear among senior officials that Thaksin is planning to sack manager Sven Goran Eriksson.
