Manchester City are ready to splash out on Palermo defender Simon Kjaer.

The Sun says City owner Sheikh Mansour has given the green light for new boss Roberto Mancini to splash another £100million in the January transfer window.

Mancini's scouts watched the Danish international against Sampdoria last night and City are poised to swoop for the powerful 20-year-old, who has also attracted interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid.
