Manchester City skipper Kolo Toure reckons Nigel de Jong could become Europe's best defensive midfielder.

He is adamant that De Jong could go on to great things and even be a star of this summer's World Cup finals.

"Nigel can be one of the best that there is in his position; he just needs consistency," Toure told City's website. "The last two games we have shown the kind of fight for each other that we need if we are to be successful and Nigel exemplified that."
