Man City skipper Kompany in Warrior tie-up

Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany has confirmed his long-rumoured agreement with Warrior Football, reports SportsPro. The Belgian posted a video of himself announcing the long-term partnership on Twitter.

The signing of Kompany, a former Nike endorser, is another major coup for Warrior. The American brand only recently entered the European soccer market, however it has already managed to lock down high-profile partnerships with teams such as Liverpool and Sevilla, and individual players like Everton's Marouane Fellaini, Newcastle's Jonás Gutiérrez and Cardiff's Craig Bellamy.

Kompany will from now on play in Warrior's Skreamer line of boots, which he was first spotted wearing in training last year.

Ben Haworth, global sports marketing manager for Warrior Football, said in a statement: "Vincent is built with a kind of sporting DNA that makes him the ultimate warrior and perfect signing for us.

"He is the complete footballer, equipped with incredible skill as a player along with the power to inspire as a captain. He has already begun etching a legendary mark on the modern game and is galvanizing Belgium as an international football force to be reckoned with. Aligning with an athlete of this calibre is a remarkable feat."
