Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany thanked their away fans after defeat at Real Madrid last night.

Real's late fight-back was a heartbreaker for City's support.

Kompany tweeted: "Thanks to the huge number of travelling fans. This game will give us the desire to improve again. Eventually we will get there."
