Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany admits Cristiano Ronaldo made the difference for Real Madrid on Tuesday.

Ronaldo proved Real's matchwinner on the night.

"It's clear he made the difference," Kompany said. "Without Ronaldo it would have been a different game.

"He's always danger. When he's on the ball you have to back off."
