Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has questioned the quality of the current Manchester United team.

Kompany reserved plenty of praise for United, even though many feel it is nowhere near the best team Sir Alex Ferguson has ever produced.

"They are a great team," said Ferguson.

"I remember United winning the Champions League and the Premier League in 2008, and people said it wasn't a vintage side.

"But what does vintage mean? You get judged by what you win and they did that double in 2008. It's the same now with Chelsea going into the final of the Champions League.

"There's no point in being a vintage team if you don't win anything."
