Man City skipper Kompany confident title won't slip away

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is confident they won't allow their title chance to slip today.

The Barclays Player of the Season knows he is just 90 minutes from leading City to the ultimate prize in domestic football - and he can't wait for the game to begin.

"We are determined and completely focused on what we have to do," he told City's website.

"The thing is, if I could've played the game against QPR the day after the Newcastle game, I would've done it.

"It's because the build-up to this weekend - a whole week between two games is very annoying. You just want to get it over with, but then again, it's part of what is going to make it so special, I hope."
