Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany says AC Milan gaffed allowed Andrea Pirlo to leave.

Pirlo joined Juventus on a free last summer and helped them win the Scudetto.

"Milan believed Pirlo was finished and let him go to Juventus," the Belgium international stated on his Twitter account.

"He has now won the title with Juventus and leads his country to the Final. He's a top player."
