The Republic of Ireland international believes Eriksson has invested owner Thaksin Shinawatra's millions wisely as he has brought not only quality but also commitment to the club.
"The atmosphere is very positive and different this season because of the way the results have gone," he told the club's official website.
"People are on a high - you can see it in everyone's faces and in the number of blue shirts people are wearing in Manchester.
"It's similar at training where everyone's pleased to go into work and that's partly because of the way the manager is with everybody.
"Sven has brought a more experienced, European view on things. He did well with England and his success is based on keeping the ball, which is what we concentrate on in training.
"The players who have come in have worked twice as hard as anyone else - the whole team is based on hard work.
"As nice as we are to watch, we all have our defensive duties to do and we all muck in.
"It's hard at training, but it's enjoyable and that's the way it should be."
