New Manchester City signing Robinho has thanked Real Madrid management for allowing him to make the move to England.

"I want to say I'm grateful for the understanding of the president (Ramon Calderon), Pedja Mijatovic and Jose Angel Sanchez, who were always right to defend the interests of Real Madrid," said Robinho.

"What has happened is something that is part of football. I felt very undervalued by the Cristiano Ronaldo in the case. I accept the criticism and I understand the fans of Real Madrid. I also want to thank everyone who supported me and understood from the beginning everything in this."
